A Treble Treat: Miovski's Hat-Trick Steals the Show
In a Scottish Cup romp, Bojan Miovski, the new North Macedonian striker for Rangers, stole the show with a hat-trick, showcasing his prowess as one of nine strategic changes to Danny Rohl's lineup. The 5-0 victory over Annan Athletic was a commanding display, with Miovski's goals coming in the 12th, 31st, and 74th minutes, the latter from the penalty spot.
But here's where it gets controversial... Rangers' new signing, Danish winger Skov Olsen, watched on from the sidelines as his teammates dominated the pitch. Olsen, on loan from Wolfsburg, was given his first glimpse of his new side, but it was Miovski who took center stage.
The almost unrecognizable Rangers side, with a host of changes, started nervously. However, once Miovski found the back of the net with a clinical finish past Annan's debutant keeper, Charlie Albinson, the outcome was never in doubt.
Rangers' second goal, a beautifully crafted move, saw Kieran Dowell play in Findlay Curtis, who delivered a pinpoint cross for Miovski to head home. Dowell, who had an impressive game, added his first goal of the season with a looping header from a Joe Rothwell cross.
In the second half, Rangers settled, and despite some close calls, it was the substitutes who made an impact. Tochi Chukwuani, a Danish midfielder, and Rabbi Matondo came on to make their debuts, with Matondo earning a penalty that Miovski converted with ease.
And this is the part most people miss... Thelo Aasgaard, a substitute himself, scored a stunning free-kick from 30 yards, his fourth goal in six games, capping off a remarkable performance by the home side.
So, what do you think? Was Miovski's hat-trick a sign of things to come for Rangers, or was it just a flash in the pan? Share your thoughts in the comments and let's discuss the future of this exciting Rangers team!
